On May 17, Terry and I shelled out $400 -- our major capital outlay -- to procure two 24-ft pontoons from Karl B. of Highland Park. Karl, a contractor, was kind enough to deliver the pontoons to the Camden launch where we met him, unloaded the pontoons, and towed them down river to our shipyard. Karl threw in, gratis, six sheets of treated plywood and a transom -- all of which proved useful.
